DME KIT

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

To set up a DME Unit, you require a minimum of one Press, two Graters, Dryer components and supplementary items. To increase production you can build either a longer Dryer or an additional Dryer. The quantity of Press, Graters, and Supplementary Items remain the same, only the Dryer components change.

 

The DME Kit includes: 

​

PRESS 

  • 1 Press

  • 2 Cylinders

 

GRATERS 

  • 2 Grater motor 1/2 horsepower (.375Kw) 220-240 volts 50Hz

  • 2 Grater heads

​

DRYER COMPONENTS 

  • 1 Furnace front and door

  • 1 Loading Hopper (once dried, the grated coconut is placed in the hopper which funnels into the press cylinder)

  • 1 Gutter/Drain

  • 1 Chimney cap

  • 4 (6 or 8) Tossers (utensils used to assist with drying the grated coconut evenly)

The stainless-steel* component for the Dryer top (not included in the DME Kit) can be fabricated and supplied ready for installation if required. For one (1) Dryer you typically need: 

​

  • 2 (3 or 4) Stainless Steel Sheets (Grade 304), 1220mm x 2440mm x 2mm

 

*It is highly advisable to use stainless steel. It does not rust when not in use and qualifies for organic certification.
